Martin’s Simple Lodge

Overview

Martin’s Simple Lodge is run by Martin Wijeysinghe, a local man. Having assisted many scientists on fauna and flora research, Martin possesses a vast knowledge on the biodiversity of Sinharaja. A skilled carpenter, Martin has put up two buildings comprising of 10 rooms, which consists of 4 triples, 4 double triples & 1 quadruple & a dormitory, which sleeps 10 persons. He provides simple but tasty Sri Lankan meals cooked by his daughters, which are loved (the food) by many.

Location

Martin’s Simple Lodge is only 200 meters from the entrance of the forest and is an excellent base for any serious birder/ eco-tourist who would like to explore Sinharaja at an easy pace.
