Thambapanni Luxury Tour
“Thambapanni” or “Golden Beaches” was the name given to Sri Lanka by King Wijeya, the father of the Sinhalese race. So sit back, and take a look at the itinerary which we have tailor made for you to experience the luxurious beauty of this small island haven…
Arrive in Colombo and leave for Saman Villas, a proud member of the “ Small Luxury Hotels of the World”. Spend the evening at leisure, relaxing in your own private balcony.
After breakfast, take a relaxing walk along the exotic beach which lies at the threshold of the hotel. You may wish to treat yourself to a session at the Sahana Spa. “Health”according to Ayurveda, is not merely the freedom from diseases. A person is to be treated as healthy only when his mind, sense, organs and the soul are in a state of perfect equilibrium to endow happiness.
Enjoy a touch of luxury with an early morning champagne breakfast overlooking the balcony. You will feel refreshed with the morning sea breeze and the truly tropical sound of the sea gulls! After breakfast, do a city tour of Galle. Take a dip in the inviting “infinity edged” swimming pool where sea blue water appears to merge with the vast Indian Ocean beyond. The cascading gardens on the rock surface offer a variety of locations to appreciate the magnificent views, caressed by cooling sea breeze, in quiet relaxation.
After breakfast, visit the Dutch Fort in Galle which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Visit the Bastians including the Sun, Moon, Star, Zwart (with the old water-gate and hidden entrance identified as the Santa Cruz Bastion of the Portuguese), Akesloot (where the first Breadfruit tree was planted by the Dutch), Old Gunpowder Magazine, Aeloes, Triton, Neptune and other Bastians. In the afternoon, engage yourself in water sports such as water skiing and wind surfing, or spend the evening lazing out in your balcony, sipping a glass of champagne, watching the sky change its colour from soft blue to a blend of yellow, orange, red…
In the morning, leave for Villa Talangama, Colombo for two nights. En route visit Koggala Turtle Hatchery where newborn turtles are being cared for until they are ready to be released back to the ocean.
