Wilpattu Leopard Safari Day Tour
Wilpattu is Sri Lanka’s oldest and largest national park, famous for watching Leopard and Sloth Bear
Pick up from Negombo at 08.30hrs (Colombo 07.45hrs) and drive to Palpatha Lodge, Wilpattu (approximately 04 hours drive) for Lunch.
After lunch, go on a game drive to Wilpattu National Park (1500 hours to 1800 hours).
Wilpattu National Park comprises of lakes called ‘Villu’, surrounded by grassy plains, set within scrub jungle. The biggest draw here are Leopards. Endemic birds includes the Ceylon Junglefowl, Brown-capped Babbler, Ceylon Woodshrike and Black-capped Bulbul in riverine habitats. Muntjac or Barking Dear are more easily seen in Wilpattu than any other national park in Sri Lanka. Butterfly highlights includes the Great Eggfly, Great Orange Tip, Glad-eye Bushbrown, blue Mormon, Common Rose & Crimson Rose.
On completion, return to Palpatha for evening snack & return to Negombo.
