The following images were taken by Gehan de Silva Wijeyeratne, the Director of Jetwing Eco Holidays. We have show cased some of his images to demonstrate that wonderful images of elephants can be taken in Sri Lanka by visitors. Gehan is not a professional photographer who can spend weeks on end for opportunities to take a few great images. All of these images have been taken when he has been in the field on short visits for skills development with the Jetwing Eco Holidays guides or on business development visits with Media and Tour Operators. Jetwing Eco Holidays have a policy of not intruding into the 'space' of clients. Therefore, even when clients are in the park at the same time as Gehan, he and the clients ride in separate jeeps, with their own guides. However as Director, he does regularly join clients at dinner for public relations and to receive first hand client feedback. Time with Gehan in the field, gives an opportunity for the Jetwing Eco Holidays guides to further refine their client handling and field skills. This helps them to meet the needs of photographers, naturalists, birders, etc.
