Lyndal Davies – Lyndal’s Lifeline

When Lyndal Davies, celebrated wildlife presenter, arrived in Sri Lanka with a production crew from Oxford Scientific Films, their mission was both emotional and extraordinary: to document the release of orphaned elephants back into the wild. Jetwing Eco Holidays was entrusted with managing every detail of this delicate assignment, from logistics and on-ground coordination to ensuring access to the very heart of Sri Lanka’s elephant conservation efforts.

The filming followed the journey of young elephants rescued and nurtured through rehabilitation, culminating in their long-awaited return to their natural habitat. Capturing these deeply moving moments required not only technical precision but also a profound understanding of elephant behavior, terrain, and conservation protocols. Jetwing Eco Holidays’ naturalists and field experts worked closely with the filmmakers, providing insight into the animals’ histories and guiding the team through environments where patience and sensitivity were essential.

The resulting footage showcased the raw power and vulnerability of these magnificent creatures as they stepped back into the forests, a symbol of resilience and hope. It was more than a story of wildlife; it was a story of survival, compassion, and the bond between humans and animals.

Jetwing Eco Holidays’ contribution ensured that the production could tell this story authentically, with rare access to one of the most inspiring conservation efforts on the island.
