Climate Change Agreement rooted in historic signing on Earth Day
By Shaun HurrellThink of trees and you may think of fresh air to breathe. You may think of trapping carbon and combating climate change, or of food, a livelihood, or of forest habitat for the wildlife you love. You may think of the inspiration you found whilst climbing in nature as a child, or you might think of a robust trunk and long-lived roots that extend beyond our own lives. However you think of trees, they are a great symbol for Earth Day this year, which marks a special ceremony.
Trees are as vital for the health of our planet as the signing of the Paris Climate Change Agreement.Read More

A Whale of a time on the Indian Ocean!

I reached Matara on 23rd afternoon and checked into the hotel located within Matara fort. The evening was spent strolling on the beach and photographing the sunset.

The Whale and Dolphin watching cruises started early in the morning from Mirissa. Mirissa was a 20 minutes drive away from Matara. Therefore, I had an early dinner and retired for the night.

The Udawalawe Safari would not have been as good if it was not for Chaminda’s knowledge of wildlife especially his expertise with bird life. Every extra activity he suggested as well as his local knowledge of the areas we were in excelled beyond our expectations. Chaminda made clear he was available for us 24hrs a day which made for a very safe, happy holiday. Chamina’s enthusiasm makes him an asset to Jetwing.

Niranjan is a terrific guide, professional, on-time and well connected in Sri Lanka. When we originally did the booking request, we did it with Jetwing Eco Holidays to stay at Jetwing Yala. When that didn’t happen Andrew came through with the Tented Camp – great solution. Niranjan made me feel comfortable and secure driving around Sri Lanka. Friendly and chatty he kept his car clean and was flexible with our requests. Very nice man.

I realize now how truly beautiful your country is. It was an unforgettable time, in particular thanks to the good care of the tour by Jetwing ECO.
